Hearing Loss & American Girl

01/02/2020 | Industry News, Patient Resources | 0 comments

American Girl has introduced a new doll named Joss Kendrick. Joss surfs. She cheers. She has a bulldog named Murph. And she wears hearing aids.

Joss is the first-ever American Girl doll with hearing loss and doesn’t allow herself to suffer from it. She still powers through and inspires others to follow their dreams despite having hearing loss.

We believe at The Hearing Center that hearing loss is not a disability or an impairment. Instead, we support self-advocacy and embracing your loss of hearing so that you are never limited to anything you want to do. So of course, with the introduction of Joss, we are excited to see someone out there who promotes growth with a hearing loss.

You can read more about Joss and her story here.

Do you know somebody that needs to see this? Why not share it?
