How to Professionally Clean Your Hearing Aids in Pensacola

06/29/2022 | Hearing Aids, Patient Resources | 0 comments

Many people use hearing aids to treat different levels of hearing loss and improve their overall quality of life–from properly hearing a conversation between friends to understanding what the announcer is saying at a football game.

Why Do Hearing Aids Require Cleaning?

Many people rely on hearing aids to partake in their daily activities successfully, and the advancement in technology only continues to make such things more manageable.

One of the most common reports we hear from our patients at The Hearing Center is decreased sound quality in their hearing devices after wearing them frequently.

Often, this is no cause for concern and is usually just a result of daily wear, which causes a build-up of wax, debris, and moisture. Understandably, this daily wear eventually plays havoc on our devices if we do not practice regular cleaning and maintenance.

Although many of our patients do clean their devices at home, we often find when they come to us for a checkup, both their hearing and devices will need to be analyzed to ensure that they are working in harmony.

Can The Hearing Center Help Me With This?

Absolutely! The Hearing Center offers a hearing aid clean & check service to ensure you continue to receive the most benefits from your devices.

  • During a clean & check appointment, we will start with a visual inspection of the device, looking for any abnormalities or damaged parts.
  • Next, we complete a comprehensive listening check utilizing our Ling-6 sounds to ensure all speech frequencies are amplified clearly.
  • If the highest standards are not met, we will replace the hearing aid wax filters, domes, microphone covers, external casing, and batteries.
  • Finally, we clean and sanitize the hearing aid and use our supersonic earmold cleaner to ensure peak cleanliness.

Utilize our clean and check services for damaged devices or if you’d just like a tune-up!

How Much Does a Clean & Check Appointment Cost?

I would also like to point out that we offer this service to everyone, even non-patients. We can service any hearing aid, regardless of brand or model, and the cost for non-patients is only $30 out of pocket.

Since this service requires you to be present at the appointment, we want to remind all visitors that we continue to follow CDC government guidelines to ensure our patient’s and our staff’s health and safety.
